Momtastic – Modawi Al Ansari and Ten little Toes

The purpose of my blog has been to share my journey as a parent, and to celebrate motherhood! Not just me, but mommies all around me as well! And with that in mind, I am starting a new section called MOMTASTIC 🙂!  I will be interviewing inspirational mommas who are wearing multiple hats, and managing it all with panache!

The Mommy for May is Modawi Al Ansari – a mom to 4 kids, a Business Intelligence Specialist with a full time job, and an entrepreneur. Her venture – Ten Little Toes is one of Qatar’s most popular baby stores. The goods stocked at the store are often brands that you won’t find elsewhere in Qatar. And now in order to make lives easier for moms and dads across the country, the Qatari mommy is expanding her business into the online domain. The website www.tenlittletoes.co will allow users to pick what they want at their leisure, and even have it delivered home!

Name
Modawi Mohammed Al Ansari

Explain yourself in about 10 words.
A business owner, entrepreneur, full time mom and an employee with a passion for happiness.

Tell us about Ten Little Toes
Ten Little Toes started off as a fashion retail store and grew into becoming a one stop shop for parents in Qatar.

Why did you launch this?
We decided to open the store because the market lacked many brands and products which were affordable and necessary for babies, children and parents.

Why the need for an online version when there is a physical store?
Because we aren’t located in a mall, driving out to the store was a hassle to many parents. We found that most parents preferred to shop online and have products delivered to their homes.

How do you juggle motherhood and your work?
Patience and Passion for what I want .. and the Family support.

What is the best part about your work? What were the challenges involved?
Best part is making other parents happy when they purchase a product they truly need and have been searching for. Challenges are the pricing of products in Qatar as many go online and compare with the American and European markets.

Any advice for mompreneurs?
Love what you have and share the knowledge of what you learned through life and experience. And mostly important is to be honest when you do anything.

What is the one most important parenting rule you live by?
Be yourself and be patient. Not everything you read or hear will work for your family. Do what you think is right and what makes your family happy and better.
