Transferring Sponsorship From Employer to Husband in Doha

With a job change just around the corner, the man and I decided that we would do it – we would be moving my sponsorship as well as my son’s would move from to be under dad – my husband. So we looked into the process of transferring sponsorship from employer to husband in Doha, and it was fairly straightforward (once I was able to gather the info). I had explained in my earlier post that – if both, mom and dad, are sponsored by different employers, then baby will come under mom’s sponsorship. The fact that he was under my sponsorship and not the man’s made it a more arduous…

    Abilities of A Mommy

Far too many times, I have heard of new moms being undermined! Their thoughts being questioned and their parenting ways tossed aside. I don’t understand how anyone can doubt the abilities of a mommy or daddy, for that matter. If you are a first time mother, then everyone and their aunty have pearls of wisdom to share. Because of course, you have no experience but they do and so obviously they know better! Everyone from the baby’s grandparents to various uncles and aunties have “advice”. Some even go to the point of forcefully doing things for the baby – because, well, even though you are the mother, you are new…

And off we go on a new adventure.. New day, new rooms and new beginnings.. New memories to be created.. A new place to call our home.. Saying goodbye is never easy.. Just yesterday, it was our home.. And in just one morning, it is no more.. All that remains is emptiness.. You treated us well for sure.. Thank you for everything you’ve been.. From two we became three.. And now you will belong to a new family.. Our boy had many firsts there.. First step, first word, first food among others.. These walls witnessed our lives for two years.. Kept us safe and comfortable with no fears.. But now…

Frankly I was surprised that we had only one suitcase. I though momma forgot a few suitcases! I mean, you know how we travel right? You have read about my other…

    Re-lactation – An Incredible Possibility

Breastfeeding is hard! It is one of the toughest tasks that a new mom goes through. No doubt about it, and often enough – the doubts involved – be it about low supply or about correct latch, or if the baby is getting enough – often plays with the minds of a breastfeeding mother. We all know that the best way to keep up supply is to keep feeding. After all, breast milk does work on demand and supply. Feed as often as needed, and in the ideal world, all will be well. But sometimes it really is not that straight forward and breastfeeding takes a back seat. And with…

    Celebrating the First Birthday

It is incredible how fast time has flown by! But what an amazingly blessed year it has been! So many hugs, kisses and cuddles – and so much growing up, not just for my baby boy, but for the husband and myself as well. And the time had come to celebrate! WE ARE ONE! My boy was turning one year old, and we were celebrating a year of being parents!! WOOOHOOO! By January, my mind was working…

In the hustle bustle of everyday life, it can be very easy to forget to appreciate yourself! To remind yourself that you are doing a good job – as a mom, as a parent! And that is why I love this idea of the Rocking Motherhood Tag. Thank you to the wonderful mommy Tina Wilson Naddler from ‘No, You Need To Calm Down!’ (yup, that is her website) for tagging me for the challenge.
